About Beyond Cubicles

📢 #BeyondCubicles is a weekly LinkedIn series created by Carolina D’Souza, born out of her own experience transitioning from a corporate career to independent consulting. Since its launch in June 2024, the series has evolved into a platform that showcases the inspiring journeys of several founders who have redefined the traditional 9-to-5.

Through authentic narratives, #BeyondCubicles highlights themes of courage, resilience, and purpose. The stories feature individuals from diverse industries—ranging from tech and education to wellness and adventure—who share their experiences of stepping away from conventional roles to pursue passion-driven careers.

✨ Note: All features in this series are unpaid and shared as a way to honor and amplify real stories of transformation.

“Entrepreneurship is an aggressive self-development process,” says Amr Al Hosaini, whose path began in engineering before leading real estate projects.

For years, he built a successful corporate career, yet something felt misaligned. Frequent relocations and long hours left little room for connection or creativity. “I realized I had changed my skin too long to support my employers’ visions,” he says.

That realization led to the launch of OutQore in 2023, a digital retailer specializing in recreational sports, fitness, and outdoor equipment. The company’s mission is to inspire wellness through balance and movement.

“OutQore is the connection between our inner core and outer elements,” he says, adding “Our slogan is ‘Find Your Flow’.”

The seeds of that philosophy were planted in his childhood in Abu Dhabi. Back then, school physical education rarely focused on individual capabilities or offered tailored direction.

Instead of giving up, it made him curious about how movement could bring people together and help everyone find their own flow. He’d spend hours practicing handstands in his apartment hallway and was known among friends as “the gear freak”, always turning up with the latest gadgets and gear to take his adventures up a notch.

It was a mindset that stayed with him and shaped how he would later approach both entrepreneurship and personal growth.

For Amr, entrepreneurship meant shifting toward the unknown. “You have to transform, to become a person you never knew, nor knew you could become,” he says.

Through OutQore’s evolution, his personal brand now centers on building character and trust. He credits the encouragement of mentors and peers who continue to guide and inspire him.

Today, he defines freedom as “control over your time and enjoying what fulfills you”.

Raised in the UAE with roots in Palestine, he calls the nation’s shift toward recreational fitness “marvelous and mind-boggling”, citing beach slacklining and home calisthenics as proof that change, though slow, always arrives.

His message: “Embrace the beauty of being yourself. You’ll eventually find your element and share it with people who resonate, but I’d say start by finding yourself first. As you do, you’ll be surprised to discover others who were simply waiting to connect. And if you don’t find your community, create one.”
