About Beyond Cubicles

📢 #BeyondCubicles is a weekly LinkedIn series created by Carolina D’Souza, born out of her own experience transitioning from a corporate career to independent consulting. Since its launch in June 2024, the series has evolved into a platform that showcases the inspiring journeys of several founders who have redefined the traditional 9-to-5.

Through authentic narratives, #BeyondCubicles highlights themes of courage, resilience, and purpose. The stories feature individuals from diverse industries—ranging from tech and education to wellness and adventure—who share their experiences of stepping away from conventional roles to pursue passion-driven careers.

✨ Note: All features in this series are unpaid and shared as a way to honor and amplify real stories of transformation.

“You don’t need all the answers to begin.”

“I didn’t leap. I broke,” says Gayu Lewis, who experienced burnout after years in corporate, doing “all the right things”.

In that void, she found purpose.

She launched The F Coach in 2023 for women’s health and workplace wellness.

With a focus on menopause empowerment, she offers private coaching programs: The Reset and The Balance. She also runs corporate wellness trainings and hosts The Gayu Lewis Podcast.

Today, as a board-certified health coach, naturopathic practitioner, and corporate trainer, she works at the intersection of education, empowerment, and evidence-based change.

The path wasn’t easy.

“Even with years of experience, certifications, and lived wisdom, I found myself questioning, ‘Who am I to do this?’”

Financial insecurity added pressure. “Suddenly not having a paycheck felt like losing a part of my identity,” says Gayu.

Support came from her community, her husband, and a shift in mindset. “I kept reminding myself: I’m not here to be perfect; I’m here to serve.”

That helped her keep showing up, even on hard days.

A message confirmed she was on the right path: “Thank you for making me feel normal again.”

It struck a chord.

“I remember feeling exactly that way myself: lost, confused, and wondering what was happening to my body and mind.”

Since then, she has helped women navigate menopause with clarity, strength, and support, and delivered over 50 corporate wellness trainings, keynotes at wellness summits, and improve workplace wellbeing.

Her personal brand has evolved. “Building one wasn’t something I had ever considered or even believed applied to me. But when I started coaching, I found something I hadn’t accessed before: my voice and purpose. It’s become less about what I do and more about why I do it. I lead with honesty, science, humor, and heart.”

Along this journey, her definition of success has shifted. “I used to hustle, and I missed a lot. Freedom now means picking up my kids and running a meaningful business.”

She didn’t expect her hardest season to lead to her most meaningful work. “You don’t need all the answers to begin,” she says.

Originally from India, she moved to Dubai 16 years ago for love, not knowing it would also be the place to find her voice and build a life of meaning.
