“Don't get diverted with challenges you can’t control.”
Andrew worked corporate for 36 years across an American corporation, a Japanese group, and a family business.
During this stint, he raised his family. Today, his children are professionals with successful careers in global companies. With the need for salaried security out of the way, Andy, as he is known, felt like it was time to do something he was passionate about.
After admiring entrepreneurs from a client perspective, he decided to team up with GAZING RED2BLUE, a performance management consultancy, to represent Gazing Middle East in 2023.
In a way, Andy and Gazing go back two decades.
He had seen first-hand what their performance-enhancement techniques had done for elite sports. “Gazing programs enable individuals, teams, and organizations to achieve better results, whatever pressures they face,” explains Andy, who is a Red2Blue advanced coach and mentor.
He had used tools similar to the Red2Blue technique to grow in his own career and wanted to pay it forward. “Throughout my career, I felt like very few businesses demonstrated a high-performing culture. I wanted to help people and organizations be very good,” he says, borrowing a quote from legendary English football player and manager Brain Clough. “It’s as simple as that.”
The challenges were many. There were unavoidable delays and diversions. But he is soldiering on, looking for new avenues and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Andy advises aspiring entrepreneurs to have the right attitude. “Don’t get diverted and stuck with challenges you can’t control,” he says. “Recognize these diversions, accept them, and choose to trust in what’s gotten you this far.”
